PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The University of Tulsa softball team was picked to finish fourth in the American Athletic Conference Preseason Poll by a vote of the league's head coaches, it was announced on Wednesday.
Tulsa, which has claimed three consecutive conference tournament titles and automatic bids to an NCAA Regional, returns 10 letterwinners from last year's team. The Golden Hurricane went 34-25 overall last season and swept through the conference tournament as the No. 6-seed before ending the campaign at the NCAA Norman Regional.
USF was picked to win the league and earned four first-place votes, ahead of Wichita State, Houston and Tulsa.
