Austin, Texas –– Tulsa finished the weekend with a 3-2 record after dropping its final game at the Texas Invitational by a score of 5-4 against Illinois Sunday afternoon. Tulsa fell to 11-4 overall, while Illinois improved to 8-6 on the young season.
Although scoring first, the Hurricane got down 4-1 after two innings and couldn't overtake the Fighting Illini despite a three-run 4th inning.
With two outs in the top of the 1st inning, Jodi Edmiston scored on a Maddie Withee single to take a 1-0 lead. The Illini answered with two runs in the bottom of the first as two fielding errors led to both unearned runs.
