TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Madness "Elite Eight" matchup between the No. 1 seeded 1983-84 Golden Hurricane team and the No. 2-seeded 1980-81 squad ended in an upset with the '80-81 NIT Championship team securing 66% of the Twitter votes to take down Nolan Richardson's fourth Tulsa team.
On Monday, both teams had opening round games with the '83-84 team taking on the 1981-82 squad. The No. 1 seed took the matchup raking in 68% of the votes. Squaring off in the second matchup of the opening day of Tulsa Madness, the No. 2-seeded 1980-81 team took on the 1984-85 squad grabbing 67% of the votes and the win.
