TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa football team resumed practice Friday afternoon following a nine-day paused period due to eight positive COVID-19 tests.
Tulsa Head Coach Philip Montgomery was pleased with today's workout, which was just No. 5 of the preseason for the Golden Hurricane. Tulsa's practiced for two hours in the mid-afternoon heat on Harwell Field.
"I thought our retention was really good and obviously our energy was great. They were excited to be back on the field. We just have to continue to build off of that," said Montgomery. "We have to get into football shape, but anytime you have that type of layoff it doesn't matter how much running you really do, it doesn't get you into the kind of shape you need to be to play the game, but it definitely helps.
