MIAMI, Fla. – The Tulsa Golden Hurricane (11-9) could not overcome a 5 run second inning by the FIU Golden Panthers, falling in the opening game of the FIU Classic 5-3.
In the top of the 7th inning, Kari Briggs led off for the Hurricane drawing a walk before being pinch ran for by Grace Jarvis. Jarvis advanced to second on a wild pitch, but a Hurricane strikeout and ground out ended the game.
The Hurricane scored 3 runs on 7 hits but had two costly errors both of which occurred in the second inning.
