HOUSTON — Corey Davis Jr. hit six 3-pointers and scored a game-high 21 points as No. 19/17 Houston defeated visiting Tulsa, 74-56, in the American Athletic Conference opener for both squads on Wednesday night at the Fertitta Center.
Martins Igbanu led the Golden Hurricane (10-4, 0-1) with 18 points and eight rebounds and he was joined in double-figures by 10 points from DaQuan Jeffries. Tulsa was held to a season-low 30.9-percent shooting and scored 20 points in the paint.
Meanwhile, the Cougars (14-0, 1-0) extended their NCAA-leading homecourt winning streak to 27 games.
