TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa volleyball squad (5-2) defeated the Abilene Christian Wildcats (2-7) on Friday in its first match of the 2018 Tulsa Volleyball Invitational in the Donald W. Reynolds Center, 3-2.
In the first meeting between the teams in program history, the Golden Hurricane went to a fifth set for the first time in 2018, clinching the match in the waning moments.
In the first set, Emily Thorson led the way with six kills. Mariah Pardo did most of the setting for the Golden Hurricane, tallying 13 assists in set one.
