BATON ROUGE, La. — The University of Tulsa softball team got on the board first, but No. 11 LSU responded with a 12-run inning on its way to a 19-1 victory in the season-opener for both squads on Thursday night at Tiger Park.
Morgan Neal and Haley Meinen each had hits for the Golden Hurricane (0-1), while newcomer Alexis Perry drove in Tulsa's only run of the night.
Meanwhile, Michaela Schlattman went 3-for-4 with five RBIs to pace the Tigers (1-0). Maribeth Gorsuch tossed all five innings and recorded one strikeout to pick up the win in the circle.
