MIAMI, Fla. – The Tulsa Golden Hurricane close out the FIU Classic losing to Ball State 2-1 (9 innings) and Maryland 5-0 at Felsberg Field.
Tied 0-0 to Ball State in the top of the 8th inning, Tulsa placed Abby Jones on second base as part of the international tie-breaker rule. After a sacrifice bunt by Mikayla Whitten moved Jones to third, Kari Briggs singled up the middle to give the Hurricane a 1-0 lead.
The Hurricane loaded the bases in the top of the 9th innings, after Ball State tied the game in the bottom half of the 8th.
