LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Tulsa volleyball team defeated Santa Clara in four sets [25-22, 25-22, 23-25, 25-22] with stifling defensive effort on Thursday night to advance to the third round of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC). The Golden Hurricane (17-16, 8-8 The American) will play either Weber State or Wyoming next week on Dec. 9-12. No additional information is available at this time.
With the win, it marks the first time the Golden Hurricane have won multiple matches in a single postseason. Prior to Wednesday's win over UC Davis, Tulsa had won just two first round matches in the NCAA Tournament.
