Spurgeon Shatters School Record in the Long Jump at the Crimson & Gold Invitational

PITTSBURG, Kan. - Redshirt junior Carsyn Spurgeon set a new program record in the long jump, as the Tulsa track and field team opened the indoor season at the Crimson & Gold Invitational, hosted by Pittsburg State at the Robert W. Plaster Center.

Spurgeon shattered the program record with a leap of 19' 11.5" (6.08m) for first place. Her jump bested the previous indoor mark by 5.5 feet. Entering the invitational, she had the fourth-best indoor jump at TU with a mark of 18' 8". The mark currently ranks sixth in Division I.
