McEvoy, who now has two victories in the 3,000-meter run this season, edged out Purdue's Curtis Eckstein by less than a second. McEvoy set the 3,000-meter record at the Track and Field Center at Gately Park in Chicago, Illinois.
Tulsa swept the mile run in both men's and women's as Pesendorfer tallied her second victory of the season with a 4:46.27, a new personal best.
