In her second day on the job, first-year Head Coach Angie Nelp announced today the signing of the top prep senior in the metro area as Temira (tuh-my-ruh) Poindexter joined the Golden Hurricane women's basketball program.
Poindexter, a 6'1" forward, was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter at Sapulpa High School and completed her career as a state champion.
As a senior, Poindexter averaged 20.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.1 steals, while shooting 50 percent from the field and 46 percent from 3-point range. Poindexter earned Oklahoma Coaches Association (OCA) and Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association all-state honors her senior season.
