IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Tulsa women's tennis duo of Vera Ploner and Martina Okalova secured its spot in Tuesday's doubles finals with two victories on Monday at the ITA Central Regional in Iowa City, Iowa.
The first came against Nebraska's Vasanti Shinde and Jessica Aragon, taking down the duo, 8-3.
In the Golden Hurricane tandem's second match on Monday, it faced off with Sofi Blanco/Lisa Marie Rioux of Oklahoma State, defeating the Cowgirls in a back-and-forth match, 6-7(5), 6-3, 10-8. Rioux/Blanco entered the match ranked the No. 24 doubles pair in the Oracle ITA preseason doubles rankings.
