Golden Moments in Tulsa History
On the date, Sept. 25, the Tulsa football team has had some significant wins on the gridiron but none more impressive than 50 years ago today. An unranked Golden Hurricane team, trailing 20 points in the second half against the No. 7- ranked Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayetteville, outscored the Hogs the rest of the way for a 21-20 victory. Five years later, on this same date, the Hurricane pulled another upset in Fayetteville, this time capturing a field goal-only win, 9-3, over the 12th-ranked Razorbacks.
