TULSA, Okla. – On Friday night, The University of Tulsa women's tennis team defeated No. 24 Kansas in a 4-2 decision at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The No. 28 Golden Hurricane improves to 16-2 overall, while Kansas falls to 12-3 overall.
Tulsa started doubles play strong as Ksenia Laskutova and Renata Kuricova (No. 1) defeated KU's No. 68 Janet Koch and Nina Khmelnitckaia, 6-2, to take a 1-0 doubles point lead. Kansas bounced back to tie the doubles score at 1-1 as Summer Collins and Maria Jose Cardona (No. 2) defeated Rongrong Leenabanchong and Martha Matoula in a 6-4 decision.
