Marcelo Arevalo Ends Play at Wimbledon in Doubles Main Draw

Former University of Tulsa tennis athlete Marcelo Arevalo and his doubles teammate Roberto Maytin fell in the Wimbledon Main Draw Doubles action today.

Arevalo, from El Salvador, and Maytin, from Venezuela, dropped a tight three-setter to
Konstantin Kravhcuk (Russia) and Denys Molchanov (Ukraine) by scores of 6-7 (3), 7-6 (5), 8-6 in a match that lasted two hours and 21 minutes

Earlier in the week, Arevalo and Maytin won to qualifying matches to advance to the Main Draw. Arevalo has an ATP doubles ranking of 123 and a singles rank of 218 in the World.

Arevalo played two seasons at Tulsa (2009-11) before turning professional.
