TULSA, Okla. — Marc Scott, Tulsa's second national champion and a nine-time All-American, was selected to compete for his native Great Britain at the 2017 IAAF World Championships, which will take place Aug. 4-13 at Olympic Stadium in London.
Scott, who won the 10,000-meter crown and finished fourth in the 5,000-meters at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships in June, will run the 5,000-meters. He will join Olympic gold medalist Mo Farah and Olympian Andrew Butchart to represent Great Britain in the event. The North Yorkshire, England, native earned his spot on the British squad with a qualifying time of 13:22.
