TULSA, Okla. – Senior middle blocker Maggie Hembree was named the American Athletic Conference all-conference second team, it was announced today.
The Tulsa, native was vital for the Hurricane offensively and defensively. During the shortened Covid-19 season, Hembree led the team in blocks with 41, 6 solos and 35 assisted. The Hurricane with the second most blocks was 17 behind the 6'4" middle.
"Maggie has worked hard at getting better every year. In a pandemic year when many NCAA athletes' progress was stagnant, she increased her skills and abilities in a significant way," said head volleyball coach Ryan Wills, "Her work ethic and progression show her character, and we are glad she is being rewarded for that effort.
