BATON ROGUE, La. –– The University of Tulsa's newly appointed Head Men's Basketball Coach Eric Konkol was selected as the recipient of the Tommy Joe Eagles Memorial Award as the Louisiana Major College Coach of the Year for the 2021-22 season, the Louisiana Association of Basketball Coaches announced on Wednesday.
Konkol was named Tulsa's head coach on March 21 after leading his Louisiana Tech team to a 24-10 record and an appearance in the Conference USA Championship game. An upset win over North Texas in the semifinal round highlighted the team's trek to the final.
