MALIBU, Calif. – University of Tulsa men's tennis senior Majed Kilani fell to Fermin Calvo Barcelo of Kennesaw State in straight sets, 7-5, 6-0 on the first day of the Oracle ITA Masters on Thursday.
To kick off the morning, Kilani partnered with junior Fatima Bizhukova (Wichita State) to take down the team of Aziz Kijametovic (ODU) and Maria Kononova (NT), 6-4.
Kilani/Bizhukova will take on Ito of Texas and Rioux of Oklahoma State, who came into the tournament as the No. 1 overall seed, tonight at 7 p.m. CT.
In singles, Kilani started the match off strong, taking the two first games of the match to take a 2-0 lead.
