TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa Volleyball team dropped their match to American Athletic Conference leader SMU in three sets (16-25, 19-25, 22-25) on Wednesday evening at the Reynolds Center. The Hurricane (18-11, 7-10 The American) played their best of the evening in the third and most tightly contested set, but they could not extend the match as SMU pulled away late.
Tulsa found themselves behind to SMU (22-7, 15-2 The American) 8-3 early in the opening frame before the Mustangs eventually stretched their advantage to eight at 14-6. The Hurricane responded with a 5-0 run, eventually pulling with two on an Erica Bohannon kill at 15-13.
