TULSA, Okla. – Joshua Goodger, the No. 82 ranked singles player, upset Constantin Schmitz, the No. 21 ranked player, in straight sets. However, Tulane (3-1) defeated the Golden Hurricane (3-5), 5-2, Friday night at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
In the opening set, Goodger took the first game and then broke Schmitz's serve to take a 2-0 lead. Schmitz was able to break Goodger's next serve and eventually tied the first at 2-2. While up 4-3, Goodger managed to break Schmitz another time and took a 5-3 lead. Goodger would take the first as he won the next game on serve, 6-3.
