TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa defensive coordinator Joseph Gillespie met the media this week and talked about the 2019 Golden Hurricane defense.
Gillespie, who is in his fifth season on the coaching staff, is in his first season as defensive coordinator, succeeding the retired Bill Young. Gillespie also coaches the teams' linebackers.
Gillespie also talked about Coach Young's influence and last year's transition to the 3-3-5 defense.

Tulsa opens the season on Friday night, August 30 at Michigan State. The Hurricane opens the home season two weeks later on Saturday, Sept.
