Golden Moments in Tulsa History
This is the time of year that sports fans direct their attention to the College Baseball World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. Fifty years ago, a tiny private school from the Midwest surprised the country in reaching the finals of college baseball. The Tulsa Golden Hurricane won the Missouri Valley Conference title and posted a 36-3 record heading into the College World Series.
