Former Tulane wide receiver Xavier Rush will get a chance to prove himself at the next level after signing a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, according to the NFL transactions wire.

Rush signed at the same time as former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Seantavius Jones.

The 6-foot-3, 202-pound Rush caught 99 passes for 1,349 yards and 12 touchdowns during his four seasons with the Green Wave.

Rush's senior season came to an end early when he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in October 2014.

His best season at Tulane was in 2012 when he finished with 43 receptions for 520 yards and five touchdowns.
