TROY, Ala. – The nation's interception leader, Zion Williams, has been named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon. The Troy cornerback intercepted a pair of passes and returned one for a touchdown in the Trojans' season-opening victory.
Williams bookended the second quarter with his two interceptions and was part of the Troy defense's four-interception effort. His first pick came following a Troy turnover in the red zone and gave the Trojans a 21-0 lead as he went 19 yards untouched into the end zone.
