MACON, Ga. – Troy carded a field-best 26 birdies on Monday's opening day of the Mercer Invitational, and the Trojans find themselves in fifth place following 36 holes of play. Nicole Lorup paced the Trojans individually as she is tied for eighth place.
Lorup finished the day with eight birdies – second best in the field of 53 golfers – en route to a 6-over 150 on the day; scores were high across the board with the average round on Monday settling at 77.76 on the par-72 course.
She carded five birdies during the opening round including three of her final five holes to move from 2-over to an even card.
