WISE COLUMN: Troy women's basketball ramping up offense in Sun Belt play

Make a run to the concessions stands, and well, you might have missed a whole quarter of action – packed into three to five minutes of actual time.

In early December, the Troy Trojans’ women’s basketball team led the nation in scoring with more than 97 points per game. While that average has “slumped” to second-best at 87.1 – mainly because of a 43-point effort on the road at Vanderbilt – the Trojans’ offense appears to be getting better and better as Sun Belt Conference play begins.

In the early part of the season, two games against Division II opponents -- Stillman and Fort Valley State -- inflated the scoring average.
