Troy wide receiver John Johnson, seen against South Alabama, was one of a handful of Wiregrass stars who had an impact in the Trojans rise to a bowl game this season.
On Friday, he will suit up for the Trojans as the program competes in its first bowl game since 2010. Johnson remembers the last time Troy made a bowl game, a 48-21 victory in the New Orleans Bowl over the same Ohio program the Trojans battle this week in the Dollar General Bowl in Mobile. In fact, he was there.
“I went to the one in New Orleans,” he said.
