TROY — Damion Willis retreated to Troy’s sideline and mourned a dropped pass that would have meant a first down when someone gave him another reason to pout.
Willis put up a career day in the Trojans’ 26-16 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette, one that might be remembered for quite some time.
Maybe even in 50 years.
But it won’t be remembered as the school’s all-time best.
Willis rolled up 213 yards receiving, including a 75-yard touchdown, but Troy legend Danny Grant still reigns supreme.
Willis’ number ranks second on Troy’s all-time single-game list — 12 yards behind Grant, of course.
