TROY – Troy kept throwing in shots, but UAB’s inside trio of Chris Cokley, William Lee and Lewis Sullivan weathered the barrage and dominated the glass as the Blazers pulled away to a 90-78 victory Tuesday night at Trojan Arena.
The victory kept UAB (6-3) unbeaten in this series, which now stands at 10-0. The Trojans fell to 5-4.
Troy shot 50 percent from the field, but was outrebounded 40-20 by UAB and that translated to a couple of stats that were too much to overcome. UAB enjoyed a 46-18 advantage in the paint, had a 29-7 edge in second-chance points and outrebounded Troy 19-4 on the offensive glass.
