TROY — Traveon Samuel glided toward the end zone, ready to make a highlight play in Saturday’s T-Day, perhaps picturing himself on the new videoboard installed in front of him.
Troy’s new receiver — a graduate transfer from Louisville — showed great potential, right down to the touchdown he scored that almost wasn’t.
Rising sophomore defensive back Marcus Jones almost caught Samuel at the end of a 70-yard pass play, enough that Jones may endure some teasing all summer, though it was a spring touchdown.
