TROY – Once the Troy Trojans’ running game got started against Alabama State Saturday, it never stopped.
The Trojans tallied five rushing scores and averaged 7.2 yards per carry in a 34-7 win over the Hornets at Veterans Memorial Stadium. It did not really matter who carried the ball – they were bound to pick up yards in chunks.
“We showed our depth at running back tonight,” Troy head football coach Neal Brown said. “We’re gonna need all of those guys as we continue on.”
The Trojans (1-1) compiled 251 yards on the ground, a week after only posting 76 against Boise State.
