TROY – After continuously reeling South Alabama back in all night, the Troy women’s basketball team launched a late, stunning 21-1 run to finally down the Jaguars 82-71 at Trojan Arena Saturday.
The Trojans upped their winning streak to four games despite trailing the second-place Jaguars (15-6 overall, 8-2 Sun Belt Conference) by double digits in every quarter. Beset by shooting woes in the first half, Troy blistered the nets with 22 of 38 shooting (57.9 percent) in the second half in the rally.
“We did not start out the game well, but we did not quit,” said Trojans head coach Chanda Rigby.
