TROY – With the Troy women’s basketball team needing clutch plays against South Alabama Saturday, the least used Trojan showed little rust.
Senior Kristen Emerson, hampered by a shoulder injury all season, delivered four clutch points, two big rebounds and the game-winning assist down the stretch, leading Troy to a 75-71 victory at Trojan Arena.
“It was a great moment. I’m so glad it went the way that it did,” Trojans head coach Chanda Rigby said of Emerson’s performance. “As a high school player, it was all on her: she rebounded, she was the point guard, she was the post.
