A Twitter post from Troy University’s official account (@TroyUnews) following the Trojan football team’s 24-21 over then-No. 25 LSU on Saturday has generated plenty of buzz.
As of Monday evening, the tweet reading “Hey @LSU, thanks for having us down for homecoming! We really enjoyed it!” had been re-tweeted almost 65,000 times, liked more than 177,000 times and involved in about 2,300 direct comments.
The post appeared on several major sports publication sites and on a social media graphic for ESPN’s hallmark show, Sportscenter.
Troy University Director of Media Relations and tweet author Matt Clower said while the posting has generated interest in the university, he said the buzz really stems from the efforts of the football team.
