TROY, Alabama – Troy arguably played its most complete game of the season in an 88-47 win over Georgia Southern to open Sun Belt Conference play on Friday in Trojan Arena.
The 47 points allowed were the fewest allowed by a Troy team since South Alabama managed only 41 on Jan. 26, 2011, it was also the largest margin of victory (41) in a Sun Belt Conference game in school history. The Trojans held Georgia Southern to just 22.9 percent (16-of-70) from the field in the game, while the Trojans shot 39.2 percent (31-79).
Troy (6-6, 1-0 Sun Belt) opened with a bang as hit back-to-back 3-pointers for the team's first points of the game, they were two of Troy's 11 treys on the night.
