TROY, Alabama – Matt Sanders drove a walk-off single into center field that sent the record crowd at Riddle-Pace Field into a frenzy and capped a dramatic Troy comeback as the Trojans downed Alabama, 12-11, in front of 3,328 fans Tuesday night.
Sanders – who finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs, a double and three runs scored – completed the comeback for the Trojans (15-12), who trailed 11-9 heading into the bottom of the eighth.
Troy has now won four of the last five games against Alabama at Riddle-Pace Field and seven of the last nine games not played in Tuscaloosa – four in Troy, two in Tallahassee, and one in Montgomery.
