It may seem odd the two-time defending Sun Belt champions are picked third in the conference this season, but that indicates how much people don’t know about the Troy Trojans.
“Basically lost seven of our eight top scorers, six of our eight top rebounders, so we did lose a lot,” said Trojans head coach Chanda Rigby.
The Trojans graduated seven seniors from last year’s squad, which earned a second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance by pasting the competition in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. The Trojans combined a speedy, prolific offense with tremendous rebounding to collect 22 wins – the third consecutive season with 20 wins or more.
