TROY – On a disappointing night for the Troy Trojans, what seemed to weigh heavily on head coach Neal Brown wasn’t just losing 19-8 to rival South Alabama, it was stumbling against things a mature football team should manage.
Eleven days after a milestone victory over LSU in Baton Rouge, Troy lost to its arch-rival on national television. Brown called it a missed opportunity, adding, “This is probably as disappointing a loss as I’ve ever been a part of.”
“They were hungrier than we were,” the coach said when asked if the Trojans suffered an LSU hangover.
