Troy head coach Neal Brown said he’s “excited” about the opportunity to play Alabama State in the Trojans’ home opener Saturday.
Actually, in the wake of last week’s 24-13 loss at Boise State, Brown admitted he just wants to play.
“We could play the University of Alabama, we could play an intrasquad scrimmage, it really doesn’t matter at this point,” Brown said Monday. “It’s about us getting better at all three phases and us playing Troy football – that’s playing with passion, energy, being physical and flying around.”
Troy’s home opener marks the renewal of a spirited series with the Hornets, who dropped their season 14-6 at home against Tuskegee last Saturday.
