No one doubted that Troy’s Sam Lebbie had all the tools – size, strength, speed and aggressiveness – to be a standout middle linebacker.
The 6-foot-3, 237-pound fifth-year senior from Washington, D.C., will be a key component in the Trojans’ revamped linebacker corps, which will feature four new starters this season.
“He’s kind of a prototypical Mike, and he runs better than a lot of them,” Troy defensive coordinator Vic Koenning said of Lebbie.

“We were trying to establish that bandit position as a position of fear for the other team,” Koenning said.
