Troy Trojans left to wonder about starting safeties’ health for game at Missouri Tigers

TROY — Troy awaits word on its two starting safeties and their health for Saturday’s game at Missouri.

Strong safety Melvin Tyus was limited and free safety Kyle Nixon did not play in last weekend’s 50-43 home loss to Arkansas State.

“Day to day. You kind of have to wait and see what the trainer says,” defensive coordinator Brandon Hall said Tuesday. “We’re still waiting to hear back on Kyle’s situation. Hopefully, Melvin’s deal ends up being all right and he continues to improve.
