TROY – It was no consolation for Troy coaches and players, but the Trojans’ disappointing 19-8 loss against South Alabama last Wednesday was far from the only surprising result on a crazy weekend of college football.
“Football is an extremely humbling game, as we found out last week. Several other teams found out, as well,” Troy head coach Neal Brown said. “I’m disappointed in how we played on offense and special teams – it was not pretty. Defensively, we played well enough to win the game.”
Troy was upset, along with four of college football’s top 10 – Clemson, Washington, Washington State and Auburn.
