While some Sun Belt Tournament seeding implications ride on Troy’s final two-game home stretch this week, some other hallmarks can be accomplished with a strong finish.
“From a big-picture perspective, this season has been a positive step for us,” Trojans head coach Phil Cunningham said. “Troy’s been in the Sun Belt for 12 years, and we’re currently tied for the third-most conference wins during that time. Another win guarantees a winning season, which would be the first since 2009-10.
“A win or two wins would be big in terms of progressing as a program.”
The Trojans (16-14 overall, 8-8 Sun Belt) built a portion of that foundation during a four-game winning streak from Feb.
