The offense carried the Troy Trojans for most of the season, but its defense stepped up for one of the biggest wins in program history.
Troy forced 17 turnovers, leading to 18 points off turnovers, in a 59-53 win over Texas State in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament finals in New Orleans Sunday. The win punches Troy’s second ticket to the NCAA Tournament and its first berth since the 2003 season.

Jordon Varnado led the Trojans with 18 points and 12 rebounds as Troy relied on pounding the ball inside for any offense.
