TROY, Alabama – The Troy softball team travels to Orlando, Fla., to play in the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic. Troy opens the tournament on Friday at 11 a.m. (CT) against Stetson and will go on to play Missouri, UMass, LIU Brooklyn and Saint Joseph's throughout the weekend.
Last weekend, Troy opened the season with a pair of wins over Maryland out of the Big Ten plus a win over Murray State. Troy's lone losses in the Trojan Classic came at the hands of No. 9 Alabama.
Freshman Leanna Johnson recorded 19 strikeouts in 16.1 innings of work and a one-hitter Saturday night against Murray State in her first collegiate action to leda the Trojan pitching staff.
