Troy Tied for Fourth at National Golf Invitational

MARICOPA, Ariz. – Nicklas Borrmann fired a season-best 4-under 68 to lead Troy in Friday's opening round of the inaugural National Golf Invitational at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club. The Trojans shot 3-under as a team and are tied for fourth place.

Borrmann carded six birdies in his round, the fifth-most in the field, and shot 1-under on the par 3s, tied for first in the field of 65 golfers. He is tied for third place overall and just two shots behind individual leader, Tyler Severin from Wyoming.

The Troy senior made the turn at 2-under following three birdies and a bogey on the front nine and followed with the same card on the back nine for his team-leading 14th round under par this year and fourth in the 60s.
