Troy scored three touchdowns in its first 10 offensive snaps on the way to a 38-16 homecoming victory over Georgia Southern on a rainy Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Trojans (6-2, 3-1 Sun Belt Conference) ran for 241 yards in the game, with Josh Anderson, Jamarius Henderson and B.J. Smith all rushing for scores. Anderson led the way with 96 yards on 15 carries, including a 32-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

It was the first victory over Georgia Southern (0-7, 0-3) for Troy since 1992, when both were FCS programs. The Trojans were once again without senior running back Jordan Chunn, who missed his second straight game with a leg injury.
